Who can check? 

Sole traders and registered company directors can check the National Black List 

You must have consent from the customer to preform any checks. So make sure this is clearly written into your T&Cs.

Data protection is important here. So you will need the customer consent to preform both a check. Or to add a customer to the National Black List. This can be written into your terms. We are ICO compliant overseen by the data controller.

Black Listing A Customer

Use our simple online form.

We will ask you for the customers personal details. The reason(s) you need to make a submission. A summary of what has gone wrong. How the customer consented. (ie agreed to your T&Cs) 

We will review the information submitted. This can take up to 48 hours. You can remove this person at anytime if the situation is resolved.

We will not contact the customer or use the information for any other purpose.

Checking The List

Use our simple online form.

You will need the customer personal details. The reason for the check (ie potential customer)  

Your name and business contact information. So that we can check you are a business with a legitimate reason for carrying out a black list check.

We will ask you to confirm the customer has consented to the check.

We will not contact the customer.

Compliance 

The data controller is the person who ensures that we are compliant with data protection.

We do not publish the list publicly. You can only request basic information about specific individuals. You must have a valid reason for requesting that information.

This list is for business use. We do not confirm any details regarding addresses or any other personal information. This service confirms the customer status. Held with us and at least one other un disclosed business.

We will only confirm the customer status as listed or not listed on our records. With a code that relates to a vague reason to why they may have been listed. We will not give the exact reason.

The customer can request information held on file about themselves. But not information about who made the submission.

You must make sure the customer has consented to being. Both checked against and to being added to the national black list. This must at least be clearly written in to your T&Cs. (Click Here for the insert text) 

Customers are deleted from the national black list after 5 years. The data controller reserves the right to remove information earlier.
